Though young, the ADRCAFRICA is manned by some of the best and most experienced minds in the economic research and consulting space in Africa and has some of the most advanced trade researchers who have been involved in issues of trade at the highest levels across the globe. This is in addition to having an array of international publications in the area of trade policy design and implementation.

A number of its researchers are allied with regional and global bodies like the African Economic Research Consortium (Nairobi, Kenya), the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (Dakar, Senegal), the International Development Research Council (Ottawa Canada), the Economic Modeling Group of the Free University of Belgium (Brussels, Belgium) and the University of Pretoria, South Africa among several others. Governance Structure

The ADRCAFRICA is managed by a lean secretariat made up of the following:

  • The Executive Director
  • The Programme Officer – Macroeconomics and Social Governance
  • The Programme Officer – Microeconomics and Institutional Studies
  • The Finance and Administrative Department including
    • The Finance Manager and Finance Assistant
    • The Internal Auditor
    • The Manager – Administration
  • In-House Researchers – working under each of the major thematic areas of the work of the Centre. These are mostly mid- and Junior-level researchers working on specific projects under either the macro or micro work programme of the Centre. There are currently 10 in house researchers.

A significant proportion of the work of the Centre is conducted through a pool of Research Fellows. These are non-resident, mostly senior researchers and professionals covering a wide range of disciplines in the social and human sciences that are affiliated to the Centre. Most of these are drawn from Universities, Research Centres and Professional Groups within and outside the catchment area of the work of the Centre. They form a pool from which the Centre draws at very short notices for its expanding work. Presently, there are over 20 such research fellows covering such areas as Economics, Political Science, Agricultural Economics, Management, Sociology and Public Policy.
